Qatar 2022: Australia asks FIFA for "a transparent and orderly approach"

Beaten by Qatar in the bid for the organisation of the 2022 World Cup, on the 02/12/2010, Australia has called for a dialogue with FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), whose executive committee is supposed to discuss the possible moving of the competition in winter on the 03 and 04/10/2013. "FIFA has an opportunity now to make the best of a bad situation by embarking on a transparent and orderly approach, unlike the process that led to the original flawed decision in December 2010," said Frank Lowy, chairman of the ASF (Australian Football Federation) on the 17/09/2013.

If FIFA was to move the 2022 World Cup, the Australian Federation also asked for a "fair compensation" for candidates who, like Australia, had built a project for a tournament in June-July.

The ECA (European Club Association) and EPFL (Association of European Professional Football Leagues) have asked FIFA, on the 10/09/2013, to be involved in discussions about the chosen season for the 2022 World Cup.
