Deloitte: European football represented a market size of €24.6bn in 2015-16 (+13%)

"Driven by continued growth in broadcast rights values in the European football's biggest leagues, and the impact of UEFA Euro 2016, total European football market revenues reached almost €25bn in 2015-16, a 13% increase on 2014-15 (€21.8bn)," said the July 2017 edition of the "Annual Review of Football Finance", conducted by the UK office of the audit and consulting firm Deloitte and published on 11/07/2017.

The 98 clubs of the European Top 5 leagues (Premier League, Bundesliga, Liga BBVA, Serie A TIM, and Ligue 1) totalled €13.4bn in turnover in 2015-16, an increase of €1.4bn (+12%) compared to 2014-15. This represented 54% of the European football's revenue, ahead of the others leagues outside the European Top 5 (19%, €4.8bn).

"The 2015-16 season was notable for just how widespread growth was across the entire European football landscape, with revenue increases across the non-'big-five' European leagues, and even clubs in the lower tiers of Europe's 'big five' football markets grew revenues by €271m (11%)," added Deloitte's Annual Review.
