Trophée des Champions: AS Monaco - Paris Saint-Germain (1-2) opened the Super Cups of the Top 5

AS Monaco, the 2016-17 Ligue 1 champions, faced Paris Saint-Germain, the winners of the 2016-17 Coupe de France, in the 2017 French Super Cup, the Trophée des Champions, played in Tangier, Morocco, on Saturday, 29/07/2017. The Parisian club won 2-1.

Organised abroad since 2009, the Trophée des Champions was held for the fourth time on the African continent (Tunisia, Gabon, and Morocco), and for the second time at the Grand Stade of Tangier, which had already hosted the 2011 edition (Olympique de Marseille - LOSC Lille, 5-4).

"This fixture is a new opportunity to promote the Conforama Ligue 1 in Morocco. Maghreb and Africa are privileged areas for the development (of French football).
