MLS: AT&T (telecom) renews its partnership with the league, as well as US and Mexican Federations

The American telecommunications conglomerate AT&T has renewed its agreement as an official partner of MLS, as well as changed its activation rights, announced the North American football league on 20/07/2017. Neither the duration nor the length of the renewal were disclosed. AT&T has been a partner of MLS since 2009.

The agreement, concluded via the MLS marketing subsidiary SUM (Soccer United Marketing), also includes US Soccer (US Football Federation) and FEMEXFUT (Mexican Football Federation). For US Soccer, AT&T will continue to sponsor the United States men's, women's, and youth national teams. For FEMEXFUT, AT&T sponsors the Mexican men's national team's activities in the United States, notably the Futbol Fiesta fan-zones at friendly games played in the United States. SUM is the marketing agency for both US Soccer and the FEMEXFUT activities in the United States.

The total annual amount of the agreement and SUM for all three components of the sponsorship is estimated at between $14m to $15m (€12m to €13m) by US media, with no breakdown of the estimate given.
