eSports: VfB Stuttgart creates a team and signs two professional players for the FIFA 17 game

VfB Stuttgart (promoted to the Bundesliga for 2017-18) have launched an eSports in partnership with Stark eSports GmbH, announced the club on 19/07/2017. "VfB has already won four strong partners with Fischer (fixing systems), Barmer (insurance), Puma (sports equipment manufacturer), and Schunk (insurance broker), who are also convinced of the attractiveness and potential of eSports," said the club.

VfB Stuttgart have recruited two professional video game players for FIFA 17, Erhan Kayman (27 years old) and Marcel Lutz (20 years old), who will play under the pseudonyms of "Dr. Erhano "and" Marlut" respectively.

"We are always looking for new ideas that will enrich the future of VfB Stuttgart. Our entry into eSport via FIFA aims to position ourselves in a space of constant growth with an extremely interesting target audience that joins our conception of football and we offer the the possibility to connect to the virtual world," said Jochen Röttgermann, marketing director of VfB Stuttgart, on 19/07/2017.
