NBA: Flagstar Bank becomes jersey sponsor of the Detroit Pistons from 2017-18

Flagstar Bank, a US-based savings bank based in the state of Michigan, will become the jersey sponsor of the Detroit Pistons from the 2017-18 season, announced the NBA franchise on 26/07/2017. The NBA has launched an experimental jersey sponsorhip programme for a duration of three years on 15/04/2016.

The financial terms of the contract have not been communicated by the team. As part of this partnership, the Flagstar Bank logo will appear on the left chest space of the Detroit Pistons jersey. The Pistons thus become the tenth NBA franchise to sign a jersey sponsorship agreement for the 2017-18 season.

The signing of the partnership between Flagstar Bank and Detroit Pistons includes a "Maths Hoops" educational campaign for students in Detroit (USA) aimed to "help students learn fundamental math skills through direct engagement with the real statistics of their favourite NBA players," said the Detroit Pistons on 26/07/2017.

• The presentation of the new jersey and details of the partnership activation programme will take place in the fall of 2017.
