Serie A: proceedings against MP & Silva, IMG, and B4 for unlawful marketing of overseas TV rights

"During the meeting on 19/07/2017, the AGCM decided to initiate proceedings against the media and marketing rights agencies MP & Silva and IMG, and against the international media rights agency B4 Capital, to determine possible violations of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) by these parties during the launch of the tender by the Lega Serie A, since 2009, for the marketing of international TV rights for the Italian competitions," announced the Italian competition authority on 27/07/2017.

"These intermediaries in charge of the management, marketing, and distribution of sports broadcasting rights have, since 2009, set up a deal aimed at modifying the final result of the procedures carried out by the Lega Serie A concerning the allocation of TV rights in territories other than Italy, distribution of profits, and broadcast zones," specified the AGCM.
