Facebook: 72.27 million fans in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (August 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2017-18 Bundesliga have a cumulative 72.27 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/08/2017. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander, and the Serie A TIM, with an average of 4.01 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich remain the most followed German club with 43.27 million fans, up 835,303 (+2%) compared to the beginning of July 2017. No other Bundesliga club drew more new fans than Bayern during the past month.

At 2.2% (from 314,464 to 321,247), RB Leipzig are the Bundesliga club with the best percentage growth on Facebook in July 2017. This is the second consecutive month in which RB Leipzig posted the best growth rate (+1.5% in June 2017). Over the entire 2016-17 season, RB Leipzig saw an 88% increase in Facebook fans (a record high in the Top 5 leagues last season), benefiting from it strong sporting results in the Bundesliga (2^nd in the 2016-17 Bundesliga table, and direct qualification into the group stage of the 2017-18…
