MLS: adidas extends as league-wide kit and sports equipment supplier for $700m (€590m) until 2024

The German sports equipment manufacturer adidas has extended as the collective, league-wide kit and sports equipment supplier to MLS through the 2024 season, the two parties announced on 02/08/2017. The current contract had been scheduled to end after the 2018 season. adidas has been a partner of the North American football league since league's inception in 1996, and the official league-wide kit supplier to all its franchises since 2004.

The financial amount of this extension has not been communicated, however, it is estimated at $700m (€590m) in total for the additional six seasons by multiple American media outlets, or approximately $116.6m (€98.5m) per season. This would be about 4.5 times more than the last extension between adidas and MLS in 2010, which was estimated at $25m (€21m) per year.
