"FIFPro is calling on the European Commission to investigate the flow of money via transfer fees within the EU territory to understand their impact on competitive balance in the region," stated Theo van Seggelen, the secretary general of FIFPro on 04/08/2017.

The Brazilian international Neymar Jr. signed a five-year contract (2017-2022) with Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama) on 03/08/2017, after he cancelled his contract with FC Barcelona (with whom he was bound until 2021) with the settlement of a clause in the contract with the transfer of €222m.
