Borussia Dortmund: Opel (automobiles), "champion" partner and shirt sponsor until 2021-22

Opel, a German automobile manufacturer, is extending its "champion" partnership (2^nd level) for four seasons (2018-2022) and expanding it by becoming the shirt sleeve sponsor of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) for five seasons (2017-2022), announced the club on 03/08/2017.

The annual fixed amount is estimated at between €7.5m and €8m by German media, making this the longest and most lucrative shirt sleeve sponsorship contract among the eight agreements signed by the Bundesliga clubs as of 07/08/2017 (see below).

The car manufacturer gets visibility on the left sleeve of the Borussia shirt. "Alongside shirt sleeve sponsoring, Opel will receive other rights too. For example, plans have already been made to involve the club more heavily in brand communication in Germany in the future, which could mean, among other things, players and other leading figures at the club appearing in Opel TV adverts. In addition, Opel will increase its commitment in the areas of family and youth as a partner of the BVB Soccer School and the presenter of the BVB Family Cup," stated Borussia Dortmund.
