"All LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 clubs will pay tribute to the victims of the Barcelona attack and their families on the first day of the championship, after the tragedy that took place. LaLiga asked the RFEF so that one minute of silence is respected in all the stadiums of the first matchday of the two competitions," LaLiga stated on 17/08/2017, after the terrorist attack on the same day.

A van drove into the crowd gathered in Plaça de Catalunya and then went up La Rambla, the iconic artery of the city of Barcelona, on Thursday, 17/08/2017, shortly before 17:00 CET, with at least 13 people dead and more than a hundred wounded, including 15 seriously, according to the Catalan government.

"Professional football joins in the condolences and expresses its solidarity with the families and friends of the victims," adds the Spanish Football League.

"FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) wants to express its profound sorrow and utter disgust at the terrorist attack that has hit the heart of our city, la Rambla de Barcelona. The Club wishes to send our support and thoughts to the victims…
