21st Century Fox: $28.5bn (€25bn) in revenue for fiscal year 2017, up 4%

21st Century Fox, the parent company of the production and distribution company 20th Century Fox Films and Fox TV groups, posted a turnover of $28.5bn (€25bn) for fiscal year 2017 (closed on 30/06/2017), an increase of 4% compared to 2016 ($27.3bn), the global conglomerate announced on 09/08/2017. Net profit reached $2.95bn (€2.59bn) compared to $2.76bn in 2016 (+6.9%).

Cable network revenues (Fox News, FX Network, and National Geographic) increased 7% to $16.1bn (€14.1bn) due to higher affiliate and advertising revenues.

The conglomerate's terrestrial television business (including the Fox network channel) generated revenue of $5.6bn (€4.9bn), an annual increase of 8.8% compared to 2016 ($5.1bn) "due primarily to strong sports advertising revenue growth led by the broadcast of Super Bowl LI, the MLB World Series, which benefited from strong ratings and two additional games versus last year, and the inclusion of one additional National Football League divisional playoff game," stated the conglomerate.
