RB Leipzig (Bundesliga) has launched an eSports team by recruiting one player for the championships and tournaments organised on the FIFA video game, announced the club on 18/08/2017.

Germany's Cihan Yasarlar, 24 years old, who previously played for FC Schalke 04 (Bundesliga), is the first player on the RB Leipzig eSports team.

RB Leipzig are the fourth Bundesliga club to have an eSports section, after FC Schalke 04, VfL Wolfsburg, and VfB Stuttgart. Cihan Yasarlar is the 2017 European champion, winner of the "TAG Heuer Virtual Bundesliga" and the "FIFA-ESL-League", on behalf of FC Schalke 04 on the FIFA 2017 game (Playstation 4).
