2017-18 LaLiga Santander: a cumulative audience of 189.31 million viewers (+8.2%) on the season

A cumulative total of 189.31 million viewers in Spain watched the games of the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander -- 118.46 million subscribers on the pay-TV channels of beIN Sports España (joint venture between beIN Media Group and Mediapro), 42.25 million on the pay-TV channel Movistar Partizado (Telefonica group), and 28.6 million viewers on the private, free-TV channel Gol), according to data collected by News Tank Football. This represents a viewership increase of 8.2% over the 2016-17 season (cumulative audience of 174.98 million viewers).

Real Madrid CF drew an average of 1.182 million TV viewers per game and, like last season, topped FC Barcelona (1.137 million) in the average game ratings per club. The games of both clubs were broadcast only on pay-TV channels. The return leg "clasico" between the two teams (Matchday 36) achieved the best TV audience of the season by drawing 2.357 million subscribers on Movistar Partidazo, on 06/05/2018 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).
