Twitter: Top 100 European clubs with the most followers (March 2017)

With 38.43 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) are the most followed European club on Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football, which features a Top 100 list of the European clubs (first division only) on this social network as of 01/03/2017.

The data used by News Tank Football in the Top 100 include followers to a club's primary Twitter account, but also followers to additional accounts in other languages. For example, Barcelona totals fewer followers on its primary account than Real Madrid CF, ranked second overall, but the Catalan club is ahead thanks to a higher number of followers on other accounts.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF (2^nd, 36.26 million followers) dominate the top of the European ranking. The two Spanish clubs have long since passed the threshold of 30 million followers (across all accounts), while Manchester United FC (3^rd, 11.35 million) are the only other club to have surpassed 10 million combined followers on Twitter.
