The 20 clubs in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative 55.27 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 04/07/2017. This result makes LaLiga Santander the most popular European Top 5 League on Twitter, with an average of 2.76 million followers per club.

Real Madrid CF are the most followed Laliga Santander club, with 24.1 million followers, up 504,320 (+2.1%) compared to the beginning of June 2017. The Madrid based club is the European club with the most followers on their main Twitter account.

FC Barcelona are the only club in the Top 5 leagues whose main account (the one with the most followers) is not in the national language, since Barcelona total more followers on its English account (21.7 million) than on the Spanish account (11.2 million).
