Facebook: 232.96 million fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (July 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative total of 232.96 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/07/2017. This total makes the LaLiga Santander the second most followed European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with 11.65 million fans on average per club.

Real Madrid CF are the most followed club on Facebook with 104.62 million fans, an increase of 1,595,848 (+1.5%) compared to early June 2017. Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona now count over 207.26 million fans, or 88.9% of the total of all LaLiga Santander clubs, and more than the combined total of the 58 clubs in the Serie A TIM, the Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.

At 14% (from 55,014 to 62,743), Girona FC are the LaLiga Santander club which posted the best percentage growth on Facebook in June 2017. Eight Spanish clubs drew more than 1,500 new fans in June 2017, while Real Sociedad de Fútbol (-1,251 fans) and Valencia CF (-219 fans) are the only two clubs to have lost fans on Facebook.
