China: CCTV (public TV) and iQiyi Sports (streaming) to broadcast the 51 matches of Euro 2020

IQiyi Sports has acquired the streaming rights in China for all 51 matches of Euro 2020 (organised in 12 countries from 12/06 to 12/07/2020), according to the Chinese OTT platform on 15/10/2019.

The Chinese public audiovisual group CCTV also acquired the TV rights to all 51 matches of the competition earlier in the year.

IQiyi Sports is a joint venture between the streaming platform IQiyi (subsidiary of the Chinese search engine Baidu) and the agency Super Sports Media (subsidiary of the Chinese culture, sport and entertainment investment company Wuhan DDMC Culture Co) that was launched on 06/08/2018.

  • IQiyi Sports notably broadcasts the UEFA Union of European Football Associations zone qualifying matches over the 2018-2022 cycle as well as all LaLiga Santander Spanish first division (20 clubs); naming rights contract to the bank Santander since 2016. matches since the beginning of the 2019-20 season.
