England / FA: Chelsea handed further £10m fine for breaches committed under Abramovich

Chelsea FC (Premier League) have been handed a £10m (€11.7m) fine, in addition to a two-transfer-window registration ban, suspended until 30 June 2027, the Football Association announced on 31 July 2026.

The decision sanctions 74 breaches of FA regulations relating to football agents, intermediaries and third-party investment in players committed while the London club was owned by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich (majority shareholder from 2003 to 2022). These matters were self-reported to the Premier League, the FA and UEFA by the club’s new American owners shortly after the takeover, completed on 30 May 2022. The consortium led by Todd Boehly said it had identified evidence of regulatory breaches committed under the club’s previous ownership.
