Comedy Central, a German free-TV channel belonging to the american multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate ViacomCBS, has become a partner of 1. FC Union Berlin Activity: professional football club Founded: 1906 with FC Olympia Oberschöneweide, now 1. FC Union Berlin in 1966 Equipment supplier: • adidas: 2020-2030 (€0.7m per season)Sleeve sponsor: JD… (Bundesliga German professional football first division. 18 clubs. ) for the 2021-22 season, announced the club on 05/08/2021. As part of the agreement, Comedy Central will become the club's sleeve sponsor for the DFB-Pokal German National Cup and the Europa Conference League.

"Comedy Central and 1. FC Union Berlin are two partners that are just a perfect match: we are both a bit different from the established in our field, are authentic, humorous and maintain a particularly close relationship with our fans. We are delighted to accompany the club through the season as a new partner - on the one hand, highly visible as a sleeve and perimeter sponsor, and on the other hand, with jointly produced content that will make fans and spectators laugh," said Peter Forner, brand director GSA (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) at Comedy Central.

"For us and the boys on the pitch, the sporting competition is the main focus every season and of course all Unioners in the stands always want to see the team win. However, football can also show its entertaining side from time to time. We are therefore very much looking forward to the partnership with Comedy Central and will certainly have a lot of fun together," added Thomas Stäpke, managing director of finance and sales at 1. FC Union Berlin.

    • ONE Versicherung, an online insurance company based in Vaduz (Liechtenstein) and belonging to the wefox group (insurance, Berlin, GER), became a partner and sleeve sponsor of 1. FC Union Berlin for two seasons (2019-2021) on 09/08/2019.
